Black Screen and then Crash on running the game

If you open the game and just get a black screen - this is usually caused by the game not recognizing your monitor/graphics cards native resolution properly;

Running the game from Steam

Code
  • Go to the game in your Steam Library

  • Right Click and select ' Properties '

  • In the General tab, select ' Set Launch Options '

  • Add ' -windowed '

Running the game from the Native Installer/exe

  • Go to the game Shortcut (or find the .exe C:Program Files (x86)Eden Star Pre-AlphaEdenGameBinariesWin64**EdenGame.exe** and Right Click and then create a Shortcut)

  • Right Click on the Shortcut and select ' Properties '

  • In the ' Target ' line, after the quotation marks ( ' ) append the end with ' -windowed ' e.g.

'C:Program Files (x86)Eden Star Pre-AlphaEdenGameBinariesWin64**EdenGame.exe' -windowed

The game should run in windowed mode fine. While in game you can try setting the resolution via the options menu and after this, then set the game to fullscreen again.

Solution 2

Find the GameUserSettings.ini file located here...

C:Users*YourUserNameHere*AppDataLocalEdenGameSavedConfigWindowsNoEditor

2) Next copy and paste this file into another folder or your desktop, and delete the one inside the original folder. The Game should automatically generate a new one fresh for you when you next Play.

Remove the files from the 'Movies' folder

  • Navigate to your Steam Eden Star install directory
    Find the 'Movies' folder and delete the movies

C:Program Files (x86)SteamSteamAppscommonEden Star Pre-AlphaEdenGameContentMovies
